Primal Challenge Day 3

Breakfast: I made egg muffins yesterday to have in the freezer this week and had one this morning. Egg, milk, cheese, pico de gallo.
Lunch: Apple/almond butter
Dinner: I am currently cooking up a mess of primal butter chicken and low carb chicken enchiladas for myself and to give to David to take to work this week. The enchiladas aren't quite primal, as they want me to make the "tortillas" out of eggs. Basically egg crepes...yeah, no. I can't even make a regular thickness omelet without it turning into a scramble...though I came very close yesterday (realized I left the chicken roll ups out yesterday and didn't want to risk them for dinner) More practice on omelets! Anyway, I used low carb tortillas. Yeah, yeah, grain, I know... I figure that'll reheat better than an egg crepe anyway.

Exercise: Had PT and went for a walk.

Sleep: 8 hours.

Primal Day 2

Breakfast: Left over chicken/goat cheese arugula wraps.
Lunch: Apple, almond butter, celery (really vehicles for the almond butter)
Snack: Quest Peanut Butter cups: 20g protein, 3 carbs (because PMS)
Dinner: Will be more chicken wraps (mmm....goat cheese) and salad.

Sleep: 9 hours last night, like a rock.

Exercise: Well, I walked to the store, and there will be Pilates later.

Is this thing on...?

We'll pretend it's not been three years since I posted.

Tonight, I splashed in the Caribbean Sea on a deserted beach under a clear sky and a full moon. My life kinda rocks!

An excellent, and graphic reminder as to why it's so importnat to spay/neuter your pets.
Also, why you're a hero for adopting a shelter animal.

Peter Pan

Just finished the script for Peter Pan. Audition on Friday. I think I'm nervous. I know this is a huge long shot, but...it'd be an awfully big adventure!

That's a good way to start the year....

Two of the directors I worked with last year have approached me with scripts for their next projects.
It's a fabulous thing to hear "So, I've got you in mind for this part. Want to take a look?"
One is a WWII drama. *bounce*

Year of the Rock Star

Ok, jumping on the bandwagon. Because it is a good idea. Like a lot of people, putting my goals out there for general consumption helps me stick to it. Also, going back and reading about what I have accomplished is an excellent way to encourage myself.

2009 had a hell of a lot of suckage. The trip to N. Ireland was great, and getting to see Morgan's home and spend time with them was fabulous!

Then I came home and, almost before the jet lag had settled, I had my heart totally shredded. Recovery has not been a picnic. But I've discovered a few really good things. I have a lovely therapist, and I've discovered that I'm not nearly as broken as I feared I might be. Not for the first time in my life, I've found that I'm stronger than I thought I could be. I've been reminded that I have some wonderful friends, and I've made some new ones along the way! There's still a raw wound there, but if i don't poke at it, which I seem to be too busy to do too often, I'm fine. I feel like my...sparkle has come back.

To the good:
I started dancing more, there has been a paucity of dance in my life lately. I found a place to indulge my love of traditional Irish music, and started learning to ceili dance. The last time I went, I don't think I stopped moving for more than 10 minutes between 7:30 and 11:30. Even the dances I didn't know, I got pulled into! Whee!

In July I booked a V.O. project that looks to be a recurring deal. I just did a revised version of the script, and expect to do another version later this year. I shot two commercials, one entailing a lot of improv and crying, both of which are stumbling blocks for me, and both of which were amazingly easy in this instance. I shot two films. The director for the second has asked me to take a look at a role in his next project. I was accepted into Theatre Bay Area auditions, which are attended by theatre companies from all over the state. Those take place at the end of January and I'm busy picking my audition pieces.

NYE was wonderful. R and I threw a James Bond themed party and I got to see out 2009 with lots of people I really, really enjoy. I missed those who couldn't make it, and hope to see more of you this year.

This year has been lovely so far, with music, friends, and catching up on sleep....:) There is concern about a friend and her health, but things seem to be fairly positive at this point.

I was cast in a leading role in an entertaining indie project, and we start production this month. February, I'll be headed up to Alaska for my grandmother's 80th birthday. The last time I went up there, it was July....I suspect this will be far less comfortable. I'm hoping for some Northern Lights. I'm delighted that my travel schedule is being planned around my shooting schedule.

I'm hoping to learn to link my turns on my board this year, and I'm already looking forward to hitting the river with friends this summer. I'm excited about the career momentum that I have going into this year, and I'm working hard at keeping it going.

In L.A.

Made it to L.A. Had a bunch of drama with the rental car company...never using Thrifty again! On the upside, my pilot was on my rental shuttle and wants to go swing dancing.

Then the hotel didn't have my reservation, but I had the magic power of the booking print out. Given that they didn't have any regular rooms, I am typing this, in my hotel bathrobe, from the insane comfort of my no cost upgrade really cushy suite! It's 4 rooms, and I think it's as big as my last apartment in San Diego. This does not suck.

Went to the Grove, bought the middle book of the trilogy I'm reading, drooled over Sur la Table, resisted the lure of the funnel cakes and watched the set up for the Fame premiere tonight. Came home and hit the Jacuzzi.

Tomorrow there will be a trip to the Apple Store, as my iPhone is suddenly being wonky. Yay for Apple Care. Hopefully see some friends, and mostly likely make a trip to Roscoe's for the chicken and waffles. My photo session got moved to Friday, so I get all day tomorrow to relax.

After head shots, it's down to OC to see a friend star in Guys and Dolls.

Not a bad way to spend a couple days, must make it a habit.

On an unrelated note, it disturbs me to no end that Longshadow is the character for "hopeful" in my mood set. WTF?
